Silent Spring
Silent Spring is a book written by Rachel Carson. The title of the book reflects on her ideas of how we have influence the environment. This is not a book that suggests we should change our ways before we cause major problems to the earth. This is a book claiming we already have and don't hardly even know it. Rachel Carson has helped us realize the harm we are causing ourselves when using chemicals and methods with out fully testing them out first. So it is good that we have stopped using some chemicals that harm us(DDT) and our environment, but at the same time the problem that these chemicals took care of us now has the potential to become a problem again.

The data is then broken down into ares within Macon that are the most "safe". Each area getting it's own crime index.
*The problem with this data is that it's completely subjective to the data of each year meaning you wouldn't really be able to use it to decide if you should raise your children here. Also the word unsafe is misleading because how unsafe you are is subjective to how safe you are. For instance, if you declare a road the safest road in the US it really doesn't matter if the one driving is drunk or speeding.

What is Life
Life is a series that started up last year in march. It was the filming of different creatures and how they manage to survive over these long years. Oprah narrated this series. I love Oprah Winfrey btw.

S.O.P Hot Dog
We'll need some ingredients to make hot dogs.
-Hot dogs
-hot dog Buns
-water
Toppings: Ketchup, relish, mustard
We'll also need some cooking supplies:
-Pot big enough for hot dogs to lay flat in.
-Fork
-Stove
Procedures:
1) You'll need to take your pot and put it on the stove.
2) Place the desired amount of hot dogs into the pot.
3) Add enough water to cover the hot dogs with at least two inches of water.
4) Turn on stove to medium/high. and wait for the water to boil.
5) While waiting, take two buns and place them on a plate.
6) Once the water has started boiling, let the water continue boiling for two minutes
7) Once this time has passed. Turn off the stove. Take hot dogs out of pot using fork and place them on a plate.
8) Put one hot dog in each of the prepared buns.
9) Add toppings and enjoy.

Extremophiles
(Diatoms)
Diatoms are very fragile unicellular organisms that have a yellow-brown chloroplast that enables them to photosynthesize. Their cell walls are made of silica. The construction of the cell wall, called the frustule, consists of two valves that fit into each other like a little pill box.
The colour of the chloroplast is yellow-brown apposed to the more common green.
This extremophile could resemble a time where cells were beginning to become more complex through the process of endosymbiosis where cells absorbed other cells to become more complex.
